Murkowski agrees with Obama on NOAA home

Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, believes President Obama's proposal to move the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration from the Commerce Department to the Interior Department is a good idea.

Read her thoughts on the matter here.

The National Marine Fisheries Service, of course, is part of NOAA.

Maybe with the new Dept management
we can see some of the many buried investigations get started, looking into the corruption in Alaska's
fisheries and council's.
Maybe the words Lobbyist and
conflict of interest have a different
meaning other than business as usual.
Dept of Interior means a new office of Inspector General.
Careful what you wish for.

"looking into the corruption in Alaska's fisheries and councils." - like in regulators and managers?

Makes a lot of sense to me. We need to bring the Alaska fisheries issues out on the front burner for closer scrutiny by the Federal Government.
