Licensing Application
DP staff completed the initial re-write of its internal licensing system and entered into a testing phase. The new system will go into full production in 2023.
This is the licensing re-write that started in 2002 - hahaha. EIGHT years ago (2015) there was a audit that blasted CFEC for not finishing it. Back then Chairman B Twomley testified to the Legislature and repeated by writing many times "the Licensing re-write is largely complete, the cake is baked, all that is needed is the frosting."
Yeah right. We will believe it when we see it. In the meantime permits and especially transfers take a LOT longer then they ever did before.
You're right. The CFEC "rewrite" is only the way the clerks enter info. The license system still depends on COBOL, a defunct computer language from the 1980s.
