An impending vacancy on the fish board

Bob Mumford reportedly intends to step down from the Alaska Board of Fisheries.

The former state wildlife trooper was appointed to the board less than a year ago.

Mumford got a taste of how ugly the next UCI meeting will be. He got threatened with confirmation if he did not vote to relocate the meeting to Kenai. Why would anybody want that job. It pays nothing, involves long hours, and truly, no good deed goes unpunished. Every user group will eventually say insulting things and the confirmation process is way to political. Good decision, I say!
