Type: Waste of fish
On 5/8/13 Sitka Wildlife Troopers received a report from the Alaska
Department of Fish and Game that approximately 100 yelloweye rockfish were floating dead in the area of north Olga Strait. Troopers responded and verified between 50 and 100 dead yelloweye. The fish appeared to have been caught elsewhere, then dumped in the area. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Sitka Wildlife Troopers at (907) 747-3254.
