The state's Bristol Bay forecast is out, and it shows potential for a stupendous catch of almost 60 million sockeye.

A catch of this size would crush the current record of 44.3 million
sockeye in 1995.

Total BB processing capacity for the season is around 51 Million fish according to a 2019 ADFG study. That doesn't factor in a bottle neck of 2.54 Million fish maximum daily processing.

Will be interesting to see if the processors commit resources to stretch capacity to deal with the 62 Million fish.
