The Alaska Department of Fish and Game has issued a revised quota for this spring's Sitka Sound sac roe herring fishery — 28,829 tons.
That's slightly lower than the preliminary forecast announced back in December.
But dang, it's still a gargantuan number.

It's kind of like a car crash. It's disgusting, but you can't help but watch.
Ignorant bastards club.
A version of wanton waste.
Killing off herring just for the eggs is barbaric and not very friendly to the critters in the sea that depend on the herring as a food source.
