Fishermen's finest lost over the constitutionality of the landing taxes (the taxes are valid) but collaborated with Glacier Fish to challenge the valuation of their landing taxes, and won - so far. The result is hundreds of millions of dollars less to the Alaska Treasury each year.
The issue could be easily fixed if the gutless Gov worked with the Legislature to make a small change to the Alaska statutes, but his "no taxes" philosophy gets in the way of that. In the meantime, small coastal communities, who share in the landing tax, have had the rug pulled out from under them.

Fishermen's Finest is litigious. They sued the state over landing taxes.
