Here's money, go fish!

Now this is interesting. Bristol Bay Economic Development Corp. this year offered local commercial salmon fishermen advances of up to $5,000 to pay for nets, insurance, fuel and so forth.

Borrowers must repay the loan, plus $25, by July 20. Details here.

Seattle-based Jensen Maritime Consultants says it has been selected to design "one of the world's largest freezer longliner fishing vessels."

The 184-foot boat will be built in Tacoma for Alaskan Leader Fisheries and will be homeported in Kodiak.

CDQ company seeks new leader

Here's a mighty interesting job availability.

Bristol Bay Economic Development Corp. is looking for a president and chief executive officer.

Dillingham-based BBEDC is one of six Alaska fishing companies operating under the federal Community Development Quota program.

Last I heard, Robin Samuelsen was BBEDC's president and CEO, and he remains so listed on the company's website.
