Why are opilio crab crossing with bairdi?

It has to do with a Bering Sea marine heatwave, a new study finds.

NOAA screwed up and allocated a giant quota the year before the collapse, but of course it has to be a heatwave that caused the collapse. NOAA has wrecked almost every fishery they manage, and never has taken accountability.

The collapse of what? Before what? They set quotas against a test fishery that happened primarily in August.

Opis are down a bit but there is a decent brood stock in the shoot, not even counting hybrid.

Bairdi is probably in year 1 of a 2ish year a blow-off-top... It's been this way gojng back 40+ years. Might as well make hay while the sun shines.

NOAA doesn't control Russian fisheries, or Alaskan salmon hatcheries, or global warming. Those are your real culprits, not career scientists that got degrees in marine biology because they love nature and fisheries.

ADFG sets the quotas you nitwit.

NOAA runs the survey and sets Final Federal Harvest Specifications, ADFG set the limits within the guidelines of NOAA's information. ADFG is just as bad as NOAA, poor results and zero accountability.
