What killed the killer whales?

The National Marine Fisheries Service says it has confirmed the cause of death or injury for 11 killer whales taken as bycatch this year in Alaska.

What is the allowable bycatch of killer whales for trawlers?

The courts tried to shut down mom-and-pop hand trollers who might intercept king salmon that might be eaten by a killer whale 1,000 miles away in Washington.

No double standard here.

The average consumer doesn't know the difference between trawl and troll.

Killing orcas is very bad for Alaska's seafood reputation, and they shouldn't just sweep it under the rug.
