Southeast seine permit buyback, take two

For reasons previously noted here on Deckboss, organizers of a proposed buyback of Southeast Alaska salmon seine permits were forced to redo a reverse auction to determine those willing to sell out of the fishery.

That's been done now, and the organizers recently submitted a new capacity reduction plan for approval.

The plan contemplates using more than $13 million in federal loan funds to buy out 64 of the fishery's 379 state permits.

Owners of the 64 permits, and their bid amounts, are listed at the end of the 17-page plan. The bid amounts average $205,204 and range from $175,000 to $240,000.

If the National Marine Fisheries Service approves the plan, seiners will then vote on whether to carry it out.

Processor man

Jealous of silver bay

If silver bay is such a big part of this then find us the silver bay name from 2001 2002 2003 2004 and 2005 - the first 5 years of the buyback

Where was silver bay then- oh yeah, it was just a twinkle in D &zs eye

Btw. 40% is what SBS gets now-- obviously you are a moron - 70%? So that'd mean they did 160 million lbs!! Yeah right.

And 67 fishermen as permit holders

Ding, ding, ding! Johnny tell him what he's won!

It's all about dropping the numbers and controlling fewer fishermen AS the opportunity to participate in an expandingly profitable food industry is maturing. Along with a dash of overpriced buybacks financed by self taxation that doesn't reduce current effort. It's about greed and conspiracy.

Bobby t When you short your crews
on their settlements you get their families involved, but on a whole different level, you include their
kids too. Don't whine when someone
mentions your wife. I have seen her
sign a comment or 2 herself,so she
put herself in the arena.
Your buyback is making it impossible
for my son's to buy into the fisheries,
Think about it, the only rude person here is your greedy ass.

@10:24 - you must have done poorly in school, I am not a processor nor did I claim the 70% of the Southeast Market, Silver Bay makes that claim and I provided the link for you from their website.

No wonder Rob Z & Bobby T are going to be able to dupe the fleet into voting to tax themselves so they can control the fleet for their processing company, you can't even read & comprehend a couple of sentences.

Bobby T ... you punk... you have the gall to say:

"So JT gets up at 556am to call my wife Gina a bitch. Guess that ends the string IMO. That's pretty low when you get peoples family involved..."

after you and your cabin boys pull your pants down and do that despicable sameness by saying "taufenporn" and slandering re mental illness one doesn't have, and criminal activity of embezzlement one hasn't committed.
Your DSM scores are off the charts again...

But, as old bomber pilots used to say, they knew they were over the right targets when the flak increased dramatically! You are sure throwing a lot of flak, so what has you so worried - going to lose your factory and ships or...?

Cry Havoc, and let loose the dogs of war on you. Go get 'im boys...

Reminds me of Jim Carey in the movie "Liar, Liar" (bathroom scene, courtroom break) - "Do you mind, I'm beatin' the hell out of myself!"
