WTF?

The Alaska Wildlife Troopers posted this today:

Location: Thorne Bay
Type: Suspicious circumstance
While conducting routine shellfish pot inspections near Thorne Bay, AWT Ketchikan located two crab pots near the Thorne Bay Harbor. Each crab pot contained the remains of a domesticated dog. The two French bulldogs had gone missing on 2/13/25 in Thorne Bay and their owners had been actively searching for them. Anyone with information regarding the disappearance of the bulldogs is encouraged to contact the Prince of Wales AWT Post at (907) 755-2291.

Man needs medevac after mishap with crab pot

A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter conducted a medevac this morning for a man who was "suffering from numerous injuries after a crab pot fell on him."

The injury occurred aboard the F/V Miss Courtney Kim near Sanak Island, the Coast Guard said.

The patient, who wasn't identified, was picked up at King Cove and carried to Cold Bay. From there, he was transferred to Anchorage.

Injured fisherman airlifted to Kodiak

The U.S. Coast Guard this evening reported a crewman suffered head injuries from a crab pot while working aboard the fishing vessel Van Elliott in Kupreanof Strait, 46 miles west of Kodiak.

A rescue helicopter hoisted Jimmy Cook, 48, off the 70-foot vessel and took him to Kodiak for medical care.

It wasn't clear from a Coast Guard press release exactly when the injury occurred.
