At most, there is enough fish in the Western Gulf for two processors. SBS and Trident are there now. For someone to make King Cove work, they would have to acquire Trident's Sand Point plant and probably Port Moller. In the unlikely event that occurred, the new player would have to spend big money to reactivate King Cove and also to reverse the damage done in Sand Point. Pacific is big enough to make that happen, but would they when there are other uses for capital?
Only way it will open again is if Rodger May gives it away. Nobody is doing business with him. The fleet is too small for three buyers, but if Trident buys it, maybe. Then they would have Sand Point fleet and King Cove locals. It would make sense.
