Crab industry's cry for help

Crab harvesters, processors and communities staggered by the closure of Being Sea king and snow crab fisheries want Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy to request federal disaster relief.

Socialism for the rich. Processors and owners will be well compensated, crew will get a few shekels. Payments could last for years. Everybody plays rugged individual until it isn't fun anymore. Don't forget to compensate the film crews...

A lot of careful wording to make sure the fishery meets the MSA criteria for relief money. Interesting, the framework of the system ensures that criticism of fisheries managers is minimized.

Are the quota owners who haven't stepped foot on a boat in years included in this federal money request?

The Shrimp fisherman in Southeast are closed for the year due to stock concerns. We're not getting any compensation.
