If approved by the U.S. commerce secretary, Carlson-Van Dort would take the seat of one-term council member Rudy Tsukada.

Tsukada's term ends Aug. 10.

According to the council website and his LinkedIn page, Tsukada is chief operating officer at Coastal Villages Region Fund, one of Alaska's six community development quota organizations.

Marit is uniquely unqualified: she lacks any understanding or experience with federal fishies yet possesses remarkable confidence in her own ignorance. One has to wonder why someone, who has failed to get on the council for three years in a row, wants it so badly. (Hint: she's a KRSA puppet)

You hit the nail on the head there 6:01 pm. So much for the governor of this great state. I’ll bet he will appoint a couple more clowns to the BOF before his term is up also.

KRSA malignancy metastasizes to the federal level.

This consolidation of power in State and Federal Fisheries management is ridiculous. Besides that Marit's rude, snotty performance at the last BoF meeting should have precluded her from any further service.

Interesting that Murkwoski's husband is on the KRSA board. Wonder if she supports the complete gutting of Alaska fisheries, too?
