Here's a recent report examining China's role as a reprocessor of Alaska fish:

"As of 2024, China is the Alaska seafood industry’s largest trading partner by volume, but exports to China have declined in the last decade due to rising wages in China, tariffs, and other political tensions between the U.S. and China," the report says. "The main Alaska seafood products imported to China for reprocessing are flatfish such as yellowfin sole, Alaska pollock, salmon (especially pink and keta salmon), and Pacific cod."
