Draggers are real fishermen. They’re a whole lot of us that participate in a lot of different fisheries. Crab. Salmon. Halibut. Cod. Polllock. That’s what I consider REAL fishermen. What the hell do you fish with? A pole?? Or a dip net?
Haha. You're right, the guys fishing 10 months a year in the harshest conditions, using pound for pound one of the most selective gear types in the Bering sea (pollock), aren't real fishermen. It's the guys fishing the bay 3 weeks a year.
That's the selective gear type the drag fleet discusses, catching Crab, Salmon, Halibut, Cod, Pollock, Killer Whales, Sea Lions, and what ever else gets their trap, with all kinds of menu item selections.

Agree with 9:57AM. Looking at a sonar and dragging a net is a low skill fishing technique.
