Silver Bay's plans

Petersburg radio station KFSK has an interesting interview with Cora Campbell, CEO of fast-growing processor Silver Bay Seafoods.

Concerning that processing is consolidating under Silver Bay. If they mess, up we are in trouble.

Can you mess up worse than OBI or Peter Pan did? Can you mess up worse than Icicle? I think we are going to be OK with salmon.

Exactly, 10:10. We've all seen this story before, when Pacific American Fisheries sold Petersburg Packing to a group of fishermen in 1966 that became Icicle. PAF voted to liquidate at $30 a share in 1965. Banning fish traps in 1959 forced a whole lot of trap crews into the unemployment line, with only a few of those crewmembers still alive today.
