What a dumb opinion. It would be a benefit for everyone if Greenland was added to the USA.

Having personally worked in Greenland multiple times, I'd say Mr. Knapp's "dumb opinion" is pretty accurate. The federal government can't effectively provide services to the current 50 states and outlying territories. And any potential revenue derived by resource extraction would stay in the offshore bank accounts of the corporations involved.

In Greenland people pay taxes, unlike in Alaska. Is that why you believe that the federal government should support you? Greenlanders pay a 28% Muni Tax, a 10% National tax, along with a Joint Muni Tax of 6%. And a flat tax of 35% for those in mining, oil, gas provided they are not taxed by the locals at about 42% total. The Finance Minister Called Trump, this was NOT Trump's idea. Maybe Alaska could enact some taxes, and then not cry so loud about the federal subsidies, like the $600 million that Denmark sends annually to Greenland, instead of the $600 million a month Alaska collect from Washington D.C.

The socioeconomic and infrastructure challenges in Alaska and Greenland are very similar. Both are based on resource extraction economies. The end result of a resource extraction economy is that a majority of the money earned from said resources does not stay in the local economy. This equates to increased reliance on grants/subsidies for basic services such as infrastructure. The population of Greenland is less than 60K, Alaska is over 700K. Using the above figures of $600M, Denmark spends more per capita than the fed spends in Alaska.
