The missing person was first reported to the U.S. Coast Guard last week, said Mike Salerno, a Coast Guard spokesman in Juneau.
Coast Guard aircraft, the cutter Aspen, and several fishing boats mounted a search of area waters. The missing person reportedly wasn't wearing a life jacket.
The vessel involved was the Warmaster, Salerno said. State records list the owner of the 32-foot boat as Guy Hoy, of Everson, Washington.
Salerno said the Coast Guard, by policy, would not release the missing person's name.
Deckboss has asked the Alaska State Troopers for identification.

On July 24, 2024, at 7:10am, Alaska State Troopers were notified of a man overboard in the commercial fishery near Egegik. It was reported that 36-year-old Clayton Hoy from Washington State had gone overboard from a fishing vessel. The USCG was in the vicinity and began a water and air search of the area. Over the course of two days multiple aircraft to include rotary and fixed wing aircraft as well as large and small vessels from the Coast Guard, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, and Good Samaritans heavily searched the Egegik River without any results. On July 26, 2024, at 2pm, active search efforts were discontinued. Next of kin was notified. The Alaska State Troopers would like to thank the US Coast Guard, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, and the countless Good Samaritans who aided in this search.
A GoFundMe campaign is up and running to support the Hoy family.
