On the East Coast, the CODFATHER loses his permits for life for similar offense. It appears this wanker retains fishing priveleges and gets a slap on the wrist.
Applying the "Fugalvog" sentencing guidlines here, suggest 500-750k fine and 3-5 years in prison. Sounds about right.

Apparently Jeanoah James isn't the fish killer everyone thought he was. In Kodiak people certainly admire him for how good he is as a captain. Fisherman don't seem to realize how risky cooking the books is with the feds.

This has been going on for a long time.
So they catch one guy that is involved with two boats, but how about an entire fleet of boats?
Why is it that the feds refuse to go after the central gulf draggers and there rule breaking? Shortened trips while observers are onboard. Fishing different areas while observers are onboard. Under reporting bycatch when observers are not around.
The evidence is there but the authorities refuse to address it.
Other Alaskans have lost their fishing privileges forever for violating the Act, and are banned from fishing forever. At least they serve canned pink salmon at our Federal prisons, reminds em of home.
