  1. Little late on letting your readers know the names. It has been in every publication for almost a week. Deck Boss is not what it used to be. Just like reading last weeks newspaper.

  2. I for one respect the job deckboss does given up some news stories and a forum to express opinions. Non profit and has to put up with idiot hecklers like 5:50PM.

  3. I think that the "idiot hecklers" as you call them have a point. Anyone really interested in Alaska fish politics has been aware of the information posted. and speaking of expressing opinions, mine is that 7:00 does not know how to formulate a simple sentence. What do you mean "does given up some stories"? And if Deckboss is a forum to express one's opinion, isn't that exactly what 5:50 PM did? Perhaps for those that do not stay current with Alaska news, but instead rely on Deckboss for their quota of current events it is a good, although, late source. If someone disagrees with 7:00, does that make him / her an idiot heckler?

    1. Wes has a full time job and does not have the time to devote to Deckboss that he once had.

  6. Both 5;50 AND 7;00 have a point. Deckboss does provide a forum for expressing opinion on previously published or known news, but Deckboss could also undertake some investigative reporting to bring forward issues that are not generally known. Examples of the latter would be the situation at Adak, processor purchase of Gulf trawlers (he who owns the boats/fish in the water becomes the greatly dominant processor in the Gulf), whose plant is for sale in Kodiak, etc.

  8. Well Wes the villagers are out running with a noose in hand. They all say you are out of date and not current. So why are they here posting and reading news? There are plenty of news feeds to follow but not that many open for public discussion. Keep up the good work. I know you are getting rich running this news blog and I'm sure you have no wife, family or day job. Maybe you need to hire more employees. LOL . I'm sure Obama has a handout program that will subsidize you. For all the naysayers its simple, don't click on deckboss if you think its so non current!!!
