How much should anyone put into this forecast? Let's look at last year.,the Dept was only off about 75 percent. Anyone who makes important business decisions based on these " guesses" is taking a real risk. We have no clue what happens to salmon once they enter the ocean environment. None! Yet the Dept continues to make these inaccurate guesses. And they never are accountable for their mistakes. We are! Need new leadership starting with the Commissioner. Maybe Walker will have the courage to clean house of these so called experts and give us a fresh start.

And the thing is those "guesses" cost us on the grounds. What is the first thing we are going to hear when the empire sets the price next spring.

Pessimistic much?

And when there isn't any fish you will bitch about how the fishery is managed.

That will be true that everywhere the processors will be blaming the bad price on the huge forecast in Bristol Bay.

Richard Russell pegged 2014 perfectly, but he's retired, and can read English.

"Errors (predicted run - actual run) of combined eastside Bristol Bay forecasts made with All Data for 1965-93"

Q: Why are fish so smart
A: Because they swim in schools!
