Quite a summary! No mention whatsoever that that only 5600 tons of a quota of over 13,000 tons was harvested. Can anyone explain what is happening to this fishery. The miles of spawn deposition does not seem to equate to a healthy fishery. last year the quota was nearly 30,000 tons and the harvest was around 13,000 tons. Is it just a management issue when no where near the quota is harvested? Or is it possible that there are just not that many herring? Are we facing a real problem? I am sure that Rob Z. or Bobby T can shed some light on this subject. Help!
It's because a whole bunch of crazies aka herring seiners control a single biologist by screaming obscentities at the low-life before and after the short herring kill.
That's nice. No mea culpa.
ReplyDeleteI heard yesterday from Zuanich. Aparantly he was abl to review this prior to it going out.
learn how to spell. Your view might actually be taken seriously.

ReplyDeleteIt's obvious that the state cannot manage our resources for the commercial sector anymore.
ReplyDeleteGive it up.

ReplyDeleteIn otherwords, the fishermen are bullying the biologist.
ReplyDeleteBullying is a problem in our state. Men and women alike are pushing their weight around as if it's the right way to behave. Not.
