  2. I'm glad, very, very glad that EPA is keeping an eye on those vessels operating off the coast of Alaska. Besides Incidental Salmon Bycatch, no telling what else those big fishing boats are causing damage to out there in the Bering Sea which is also home to walrus, seals, whales, sea birds, polar bears.....! Need I go on?

  3. Yes, please make sure that salmon bycatch is ground up to no pieces larger than 1/2" before dumping it.

  4. Read the NPDES permit. Prohibited species are exempt from the 1/2-inch grinding standard. Salmon bycatch is donated to the needy through SeaShare (http://www.seashare.org/).
You may not like the pollock fleet or its salmon bycatch, but get your facts straight.

  5. All over the west coast SMALL boats and SMALL companies are paying for very small, or just a technical violations. It does not matter, if small or BIG. Its in the hand of heavy, evergrowing hand of someone with absolut authority (try to sue government), who does not care about your business or life problems. There are thousands of rules, that could be applied to anybody for anything at any time. Just stick your head out, you`ll get cut. These fines are precationary. EPA,NOAA,FDA.. enforcements are here to keep everyone in line. 1984 has arrived. America! please awake. Soon it will be too late!
