The marathon Carlson class-action case is finally at the finish line.
An Alaska judge has signed an order directing the disbursement of refunds to nonresident commercial fishermen the state overcharged for permits and licenses.
The refund administrator, A.B. Data of Milwaukee, Wis., is expected to start sending out checks soon, perhaps within a week.
Find the payout list and other information at carlsonrefund.com.
NOW that the corrupt state of alaska has the interest down to a third of what they would have charged YOU for an overdue debt, they order to pay. What a-holes, lead by the lame liar himself. I think that he got his degree from the bottom of a cracker jack box.
ReplyDeleteI geuss they took the cue from Exxon, just drop the interest and settle.
ReplyDeleteStill, it would be nice to block out outsiders who rip off the state. Some sort of tax will have to be put in place, refunding it tp residents, etc.
ReplyDeleteMental midget protectionist @ 5:19, you are so typical of what is deplorable about "Alaskan residency". The USA is a borderless commerce society. Maybe you would like to live w/o exporting or importing. If you can't make it in Alaska on your own hard work, give up! There aren't any places with more opportunities than the great land.
ReplyDeleteSo 10:28 AM, if we live in Alaska and paid triple for College tuition in Washington or Oregon does this mean we can get all of that money back now? Some serious coin coming back to us if that's the case. Direct deposit preferred..
ReplyDeleteIf you went to school outside, then you KNOW what the real world looks like and how it operates. You were not discriminated against because you were an outsider, in fact you never were called that, or heard it as a qualifier.
ReplyDeleteI have a buddy who is Alaska native and when he was going to school down in Oregon he actually was putting money IN the bank as he attended. No job, just state and fed racist scammery. He would laugh pretty heartily on that one. I guess you didn't know how to work it.
Also, why did you go outside for edu? UA not good enough for you? The border patrol shouldn't have let you back in.
The Bering Sea crab fishery was built by people who reside in Washington and oregon,Alaskan's would have never had the ball's or money to build that fleet, fact.
ReplyDeleteThe US government built the fleet with favorable loans/grants jerk off. Right after the japanese were booted from state waters. As far as no balls...bulls%&t. You pansies only want fish big money fisheries and leave the likes of winter cod fishing to those hardass Alaska lovin folks.
ReplyDeleteWow - Bobby T is on the Carlson list as an outside fisherman, after claiming he lives in Alaska.
ReplyDeleteYou ought to see the California list.
ReplyDelete8550.5. (a) A herring net permit granting the privilege to take
herring with nets for commercial purposes shall be issued to licensed
commercial fishermen, subject to regulations adopted under Section
8550, as follows:
(1) To any resident of this state to use gill nets, upon payment
of a fee of two hundred sixty-five dollars ($265).
(2) To any nonresident to use gill nets, upon payment of a fee of
one thousand dollars ($1,000).
(b) The commission shall not require a permit for a person to be a
crewmember on a vessel taking herring pursuant to this article.
Where are those checks? I am sure it will take another 28 years for them to mail them.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone get their refund check yet? First batch was to be mailed Dec. 19th.... and what does 1st batch mean they should ALL be mailed. The carlson website has not been updated in months. Please leave comment if you have information to share. Thanks
ReplyDeleteAs of January 3, 2013, no checks have been sent out. What is the holdup?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous
We would all like to know what is the hold up. They should give us a date they are really going to mail them out! They got away with lying on the recorded message and lying when talking to them. We should all be concerned that they are getting away with this. Keep calling and asking when... lets get them going!!
ReplyDeleteWas told by Loren Domke office they are mailing the checks out now on Jan. 9th 2013. This is the 3rd or 4th time that they have set a date and not follow thru. Go on the Carlson website and find the helpline or Domke phone # and follow up with calls so this time they actually give the refund due. How much more interest are they making keeping the refund monies as long as they can?????
