Want to run UFA?

Here's an advertisement seeking a new executive director for United Fishermen of Alaska, the state's top commercial fishing organization.

The ad says the position pays $72,000 a year.

As we've previously reported, the job is coming open because the current executive director, Mark Vinsel, is planning to voluntarily transition to another position with UFA.

Anybody but the prior director of PVOA. Ms Curry would set UFA back in so many ways and its credibility would be very adversely impacted. As a member I would be appalled if she were selected and would resign.

And with an attitude like that, I'm sure you won't be missed!! we'll see what kind of talent applies, but if they can match Julianne's energy and willingness to take on such a huge job, It'll be a great list. I hope she applies!!

$72,000 is low pay compared to what a CDQ employee would get for doing absolutely except for going through the motions as if there is real work going on. Salaries of up to $125,000 a year with no accountibility or responsibility to the stakeholders of the Public Monies is a sham.

If you can't proofread your own posts, why should we take you seriously?

Seriously? How can a poor man seriously challenge the people who are destroying their culture and tradition with public monies intended for their relief? Seriously?

Ms Curry is not very balanced and coming from the Petersburg mafia will bring a ton of baggage. No body said she was not a hard worker, she is. It is that she has never, never been the slightest bit interested in conservation issues if they happen to conflict with the greed of her membership. UFA has had a very good reputation of reasonableness which will be tarnished if she take a leadership position with our organization. Ask around and get some candid comments from the ADF&G about how well she has been received with them and the BOF. Do you really think that she will be able to convince anyone on the Council to do anything. many of us have had the chance to see her pout when things did not go her way and we do not need that immaturity leading us.

But the pout is a trademark move.

Come on, no room at the Inn for the pout?

Dissin the pout. Hardball vs. hard to get...

Come on, it is the pout.

More blogs from the Petersburg haters? You crazies just don't give it a rest! First of all, you're calling the counsil "our organization"? Sounds like the your own little mafia group. Secondly, if you can't handle your jealousy, maybe you SHOULD resign! You guys sound like a bunch of discriminatory juveniles. Who is the immature one? I'm appauled by the fact that just about every article on this sight has nothing but blogs blaming Petersburg or people from Petersburg for everything! I suppose the next big earthquake will be their fault also. So what if Julianne is from Petersburg, when did that become a crime? So what if she does have some attitude? I suspect that's what makes her good at what she does....she has you all intimidated. Go for it Julianne, give the jealous hate mongers hell!!! Oh, for the record, I don't live there, just tired of the whining!
