The U.S. Coast Guard is reporting a man was medevaced this morning off the Bering Sea factory trawler Alaska Ocean after he was "struck in the head by one of the vessel's cables."
A Coast Guard helicopter crew hoisted Franz D'Alquen, 47, at about 11:20 a.m.
The 376-foot trawler was in calm seas some 50 miles north of Cold Bay. Glacier Fish Co. of Seattle operates the vessel.

I think the "Alaska Ocean" belongs to the Norton Sound's CDQ group, NSEDC. Good luck to this foreign sounding dude(Franz D'Alquen) when he tries to claim compensation for getting injured on the job. It'll turn into a Dog and Pony Show in the court system for years and years and years and years until the Peoples Monies fund breaks him down to accepting peanuts.
Under the jones act he has right to compensation. Best of luck to him.
The Alaska Ocean is owned by Glacier fish, and I am sure that there man will be well taken care of.
Well taken care of the way Bob Pattison was?
