Harbor Crown president files for bankruptcy

We told you in August about the financial troubles of a Dutch Harbor fish processor, Harbor Crown Seafoods Inc.

Well, on Sept. 29 the company president and part owner, Ken Dorris, dba Harbor Crown, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Idaho, where Dorris lives and where the processor had its corporate office.

In his bankruptcy petition, Dorris lists assets of $0 to $50,000, and liabilities of $1 million to $10 million.

Many people will not be sad to see these folks go. I read the comment from an ex-employee, and I was one as well. It is true, the owners would go through the plant while the processors were working and curse at them...it was not a good experience, and I have years of fish plant experience and was never treated so badly. And, like the Anonymous posting, I also quit and ended up having to pay my own way back to the lower 48...see ya, Harbor Crown...you got what you deserved.
