Opilios have an extraordinarily high natural mortality of the crab that are larger, and thus of marketable size. Yes, the junior crab will live and grow, but that is the case regardless, as they are the ones that are escaping the pots through mesh size regulations and escapement rings. The big crab are just going to die, whether they get to be eaten by humans or swallowed up by the Bering Sea muddy bottom.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9188370370448778552.post-90759550756100751822012-03-18T17:37:13.960-08:002012-03-18T17:37:13.960-08:00thats why they call it fishing ...sometimes you ca...thats why they call it fishing ...sometimes you cant catch em ...IFQ or notAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9188370370448778552.post-27996346260230495912012-03-18T15:08:54.152-08:002012-03-18T15:08:54.152-08:00Dude, you are definitely a human error.Dude, you are definitely a human error.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9188370370448778552.post-36881133015770952452012-03-18T10:45:25.337-08:002012-03-18T10:45:25.337-08:00Thank god for nature in this case.
