The position carries an estimated starting salary of $90,000 to $100,000 depending on experience, a job description says.
The successful candidate will replace the outgoing executive director, Tracy Welch, who just won legislative confirmation to the Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission.
Hopefully she can read the Limited Entry Act, because nobody else at the UFA has read it in decades.
ReplyDeleteTracy scored at CFEC. She'll get a big bump up in pay and will have far less work to do.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a score to get a government job, too be sure these fishermen keep fishing for the lowest prices in history, as ADF&G reported. "Adjusted for inflation (CPI, 2025 prices), the 2025 exvessel value estimate of $541 million was the 13th lowest exvessel value reported since 1975..." Far less work is always best in this industry, fishing for tuition.
