No ESA listing for Chinook

The National Marine Fisheries Service has found that listing Gulf of Alaska Chinook salmon under the Endangered Species Act is "not warranted at this time."

Here's a notice to be published in the Federal Register.

"Gulf of Alaska Chinook do not come close to meeting the definition for listing under the ESA," the Alaska Department of Fish and Game said in a press release.

That's not what the Ninth Circuit wrote, in UCIDA v. NMFS & State regarding the mismanagement of both agencies regarding Cook Inlet King Salmon.
