The AG's expected action comes in the context of a lawsuit from commercial fishing groups, the Aleutians East Borough and others seeking to void regulations the board adopted at its February meeting on Alaska Peninsula finfish.
The suit focuses, in part, on board members with alleged conflicts of interest. The plaintiffs say two proposals the board approved on close votes would "dramatically reduce open fishing time and area for commercial purse seine and gillnet gear in the South Alaska Peninsula."
In February, the borough and tribal governments called on the AG to "act on a formal ethics complaint filed against members of the Alaska Board of Fisheries."

Really those two board members knew they were conflicted and should be removed from fisheries management, they proved they can't be fair.
Hopefully this happens, how can the board member have a vote when there from the Yukon and work as a lawyer for the Yukon. Also van dort is from chignik and 100 percent against area m, how can she vote?
Well hopefully this brings about some major changes in how the board operates in the future. Area M only dodged a bullet but this may be a win for the industry if it cleans up the mess that the BoF has become.
Alaska's acting attorney general today disapproved all of the commercial salmon fishing regulations challenged in the lawsuit, says the Aleutians East Borough, calling it a "complete victory" for rural fishing communities.

The South Peninsula fishery started in 1899, and the North Peninsula in 1906. So now they think this fishery is a problem. They probably ought to look in the mirror at themselves and find out why the first cannery and trap didn't get to the Yukon until about 1920, when Carlisle Packing wanted those Kings, after that Frasier River slide in 1914. Just keep adding more user groups to feed sled dogs and pipeline workers, and blame everybody else after you wiped em out in your backyard. Keep building sport lodges, that's working wonders all over the state, brought to you from the Alaska Department of Tourism. Haul em all up so they can wipe em all out! https://www.travelalaska.com/things-to-do/fishing
