Why ?

And the price is?

Price is irrelevant. Its all about being there and that is satisfaction enough.

Oh, no price. It's Alaska we fish for nothing, think we are cool yet look like total dip-shits. Togiak and that joke soon enough. Thousands of tons at less than cat food prices. What a disgrace to any rational thinking business and commercial fishing as a industry.

Is it a co-op this year?

Wes,have you heard anything about an advance or what the price could be, or was last year
Thanks

What are the permits even worth, weren't they going for over $300k not too long ago? Nothing is listed on any of the site. It's interesting all things salmon and herring are hold most of their value. You have to think that one more bad year will puke out a bunch of guys. Yen depreciated another 10% since last year, another run forecasted.

Maybe scoop up a BB permit for 20k.

The average SE herring seiner made 87,000 last year and permits are still 243,300 https://www.cfec.state.ak.us/bit/X_G01A.htm

I don't think the average gross from the state doesn't reflect the actual. The state is using total permits fished instead of total permits issued to calculate the average gross. With the combine system the actual average gross is $45,600. That makes it the 7th worst year on record for average gross. It was the 6th worst year for price .13c/pound. Hard to say how it works out with a combine, but it would be nice to sit at home and collect $45,000 check.

That's good news on the farmed salmon price, GO SEA LICE!

But as the quartile tables show, Five made an average of $163,196 in 2015, for the 5 boat total of $815,978

Twenty Six boats made an average of $28,495. each for $740,863. total.

Some eat Omega 3, and some don't.

3:26 check

Yen Strengthened. June and Aug it was 124 to dollar. Now it's 112.

Also huge die-off of farmed salmon in Chile. 30 million fish.

We need russian trade to free up for pink salmon roe. Then we'd be on track to making some gains.

@ 8:35 AM you are referencing 2014, not 2015 like the rest of us on here. 2015 data is not public. But again you're the Omega guy so...

Regardless how you want to look at it, we all see that it is $0.12/pound - nothing to debate about here.

Shut er down!

That's correct 1:03, they shut the information down on the quartiles in 2015; "In order to maintain confidentiality, the figures for this year can not be presented."

The basic tables promote the idea that average gross earning' were higher in 2015, than 2014. I'm sure that one would confuse ya.

Like I said, can't catch any Omega 3 either, 1:03? And twelve cents 1:03? This group fished pinks for a nickel. Wild or Hatchey, they test and taste the same. No Omega 3. That why cats won't eat pinks either.
