Environmental conditions suggest the Togiak sac roe herring harvest could go off a bit earlier this year, state biologists say.
The preseason quota remains at 27,890 tons, a very large number.
Daily processing capacity is expected to be up substantially this season.

Here we go again. Almost 30,000 tons of a resource that marine mammals, chinook, halibut, and countless other creatures depend upon will be harvested to benefit some Asian countries and some 56 permit holders. What a giant mistake on the part of ADF&G. It will not be long before it will be too late. Just look at the last two years and how far off the Dept was in their quotas. Hopefully the BOF will have the courage to stop this wasteful carnage

courage would be the last word I would use to describe the board of fish
