The Pacific Producer, beached on Kodiak Island in Ouzinkie Narrows. The fish processor ran aground Friday morning with 16 people aboard. No injuries were reported. The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating the grounding. State officials say up to 15,000 pounds of frozen bait is aboard, and generators continue to operate. The plan is to try to refloat the 169-foot vessel on a high tide next week. A 10-inch crack was discovered near the waterline, along a freshwater tank. The owner of the Pacific Producer is East West Seafoods of Seattle. USCG photo

Wrong side of the bouy boss
I would geuss it would be hard to do that if someone was actually at the wheel.
Steering failure.
That's a big, bad blooper. Fine 'em for not staying in the water where boats like that are suppose to navigate.
Hazelwood Was Here.
Not the first boat to run aground in that area. Usually somebody falls asleep at the wheel or runs down to the galley to make a sandwich. To hit this square tho, it's almost like somebody turned straight into the beach.
Interesting, yesterday there was a post buy someone ranking the owner of the vessel as being questionable character. Now deleted. I didn't think Loy paid much attention to the posts here. Guess I was wrong. When you consider how people are vilified here on a daily basis, I wonder why this made the cut?
