The U.S. Coast Guard says it has seized a "stateless" fishing vessel and crew suspected of engaging in illegal high-seas driftnetting in the North Pacific.
A boarding team from the Coast Guard cutter Munro found more than 10 miles of driftnet, 30 tons of squid and approximately 30 shark carcasses aboard — and rats.
A press release and photos are here.

Perfectly timed boarding and seizure. Wasn't that big a deal before they declared a war on Illegal fishing though.
That's it, bring the rats to Dutch harbor. When we have a big campaign to rid Alaska's ports of rats. Better to sink them where you found them.
thats why we had small cohos this summer and a lot less then predicted!only the small ones got through the the high seas drift net fleet?
