Here's some news from the office of Gov. Sean Parnell:
Sept. 2, 2011
Gov. Sean Parnell has reappointed Joe Bundrant and Bruce Wallace to the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute board of directors. The institute promotes Alaska seafood and develops market-oriented quality specifications.
Bundrant, of Seattle, has served as the vice president of sales and marketing for Trident Seafoods Corp. since 1997. Prior to that, he served as the president of the Rogge Commission Co. from 1994 to 1997. He is a former district manager for Sysco in Seattle and worked as a regional sales manager for Trident from 1985 to 1989. Bundrant also worked as a commercial fisherman in Western Alaska, where he fished in Bristol Bay, Togiak, Norton Sound and the Shumigan Islands. Bundrant is reappointed to a seat reserved for the representative of a large seafood processor.
Wallace, of Juneau, is a longtime commercial fisherman who currently participates in the Southeast salmon seine fishery, and he also tenders for other fisheries. He is vice president of United Fishermen of Alaska and a member of the Tongass Futures Roundtable. Wallace also served in the National Guard in Alaska as well as Washington. He is reappointed to a seat reserved for a seafood harvester.

Bundrant and Wallace belong to a tight fraternity - Trident and UFA. No compassion for the little guys especially us subsistence fishers. It's all about money, BIG money. Poor, poor people have no voice in the matter of managing the peoples resources of the sea.
Yeah
There should be a sport and personal use seat on there too.
Poor poor guys
Oh that's right..... Then they'd have to pay a tax
Yeah
Close fraternity.
What a crock of shot
When these 2 guys got on asmi the price of pinks was 5-8 cents
Ask yourself
Are you better off than you were 7 years ago
Are salmon prices any higher than 7 years ago
If tge answer is YES then you would have put these guys on ASMI
Subsistence whiners get a break! What does asmi have to do with subsistence. asmi is a marketing association, that helps market Alaska seafood.
yea, if you like arrowtooth.
A "marketing association" will lobby for more resources for the market. That's what "asmi" has to do with subsistence.
ASMI does not ever engage in "resource lobbying"
It is prohibited by state statute
What about when (2006)Joe Bundrant shipped some fish to China for a presentation at Wal-Mart (he undervalued it by 1/10th of what it was worth) and the shipment was confiscated by Chinese Customs?
Then ASMI's Executive Director(ED)-Ray Ruitta told the Director Of the International(DI) division to call their Chinese Associates (Roger and Robin) and get it through customs. Then KC Dochtermann (DI) told the ED it was a violation of the ASMI charter, illegal and unethical. KC called his associates and they said they would do nothing of the sort, as it was illegal and they did not want to go to jail. The next week ASMI ( (all Alaskan residence) paid for the shipping and for the fish for a second shipment for the promotion. Plus Ocean Beauty pulled out and it was a single processor promotion which also violates the charter.
Bottomline: Ray Ruitta is crook, and Joe Bundrant is a very powerful person. Nothing against you you Joe, you did work your way to the top for you papa. But you still did something highly illegal and you should have been fined and put on some restriction for violating international law. And morally you should be held accountable, what's a few thousand dollars when you have million?????
So yes, we should question Parnell's appointments!
